so i had to RMA it.īrute force your way with them, classic shakedown, the common consumer is wetting themselves when something breaks so managers exploit that. The thing is the manager woulnt agree it was a major fault. I RMA'ed it today, had a bit of an argument too with the shop since their terms and conditions stated and i quote " Upon a major fault the customer is allowed an exchange or refund" other wise return to manufacturer. I tried unplugging everything but i dont get a boot so i have no way to really install drivers. Right so there are a few scratches around the screws on the back side, when i put the mobo in the first time around 8 months ago. I have a few ideas of what the fault could be all in the board but none are easy fixes. When putting board in the first time 8 months ago hasn't moved at all since then.Ĭheck the board very closely to damage, clear cmos and reinstall drivers, try the hdd in another pc and while this has only occured with me once the psu was at fault for some reason that resulted in a issue similar to yours.Īfter looking at your tests i think you dont have a choice by to rma at this point, hopefully asus dont be a chungus about it because I and many others have issues with them, sometimes your retailer will allow an exchange other times asus will want it directly. No damage on the out side except to scratches behind motherboard near the screws, looks like its not near anything important. Runs two GTX980s, had 2 GTX680s previously, Heavy OC on Ram always red hot at 2333mhz Heavy OC on the CPU, 4Ghz to 4.5Ghz, watercooled This is the first time i have ever had an asus motherboard do this on me. (New PSU & Mobo) So cpu and ram is okīasically no boot with sabertooth mark 1, only green led near the pcie slots is on when powered.Īny help would be much appreciated, i know i have 5 years warranty on this but id rather not be without a motherboard for a month as my retailer will not do me a swap or a refund, only send to asus for repairs. Got a new motehrboard, added the ram and cpu from mark 1 - all boots. Tried manual boot on asus mark1 with pins and wire - no bootĦ. Got another PSU tested with Asus Mark1 green light on but no bootĥ. Grabbed another motherboard plugged PSU in and motherboard bootsĤ. Took out PSU tested with pin in green and black PSU boots.ģ. Unplugged everything left PSU ram and CPU - No boot green lightĢ. The on off button did not work and so i cycled power, saw the green led on and tried booting up no go.ġ. I was playing the new GTA V when suddenly the PC turned off. Cleared the CMOS via switching the jumpers and by pulling the battery for reset.Īt this time, the PC fires up and sounds like it's booted normally, but has no display.I have had my ASUS Saber tooth Mark 1 for 8 months. Reseated ram, no issues with mobo passing ram verification test (Mem OK! blinker). Pulled GPU and ran the mobo directly through HDMI to a TV, still no output. Case standoffs in correct position, no shorts on board to case. Unplugged and replugged all components. All chipset and graphics cards drivers updated. Bios updated to current version after install Sunday. Intel i5- 4690k (Stock fan, no overclocking) The mobo only has onboard HDMI/display which makes troubleshooting difficult as both of my monitors are VGA, and I must run an HDMI out to my living room TV. Computer currently will not reboot or get to BIOS. 24 hours later while playing a PC game, the rig hit a blue screen of death and crashed. Went through the installation and update with minimal issues. ![]() On Sunday I updated my PC with an i5-4690k & Asus Z97 Sabertooth mark 2 combo.
